A world they no longer belong to… Everyday things are so ordinary that in some ways they are invisible to us. With our actions and choices, we give them meaning and refined titles like artefacts, memorabilia, or valuables even jewelry. When we abandon or forget them, they lose their meaning, and their value seems to disappear with it. For me used things
present lost memories and lost time but also mans will over nature. Even now we use nature more than its ability to regrow. But the relationship works both ways. Things are likely to devour us. What if jewelry wears the wearer and wears us out? Is there a word for a memory of an experience of wearing a piece of jewellery? I just call it melancholy pomp.
